Paramount has released the first full trailer for their upcoming Elton John biopic ‘Rocketman’.

Young pianist Reginald Dwight, an unassuming boy from the streets of Watford, embarks on an epic journey of flamboyance, drugs, rock and roll and over-sized glasses to become the iconic Sir Elton John.

Taron Egerton, having already proven his Captain Fantastic credentials with a rendition of ‘I’m Still Standing’ in the animated hit ‘Sing’ (albeit as a talking Gorilla), stars as Sir Elton, with a cast including Richard Madden, Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard and Stephen Graham.

Dexter Fletcher, fresh from replacing Bryan Singer in the hotseat for the Oscar nominated Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ (for which he was uncredited), directs, having already overseen Taron Egerton as the titular Eddie the Eagle back in 2015.

Promising to be more of a fantastical musical rather than a straight up biopic – either way get ready to bounce in the aisles and work those eyebrows when ‘Rocketman’ lands in cinemas on the 24th May 2019.
